Town of Princeton, Mass. – April 18, 2018 – 4:30 PM
Selectboard – Meeting of Central Massachusetts Metropolitan Planning Organization (CMMPO)
1 Mercantile St. Worcester, MA
Present: Chair Richard Bisk, Edith Morgan & William Holder, Chair of Road Advisory Committee.
Meeting was opened by Chair R. Bisk at 4:30 PM.
R. Bisk addressed the CMMPO Board regarding proposed highway amendment #3 which would reduce the cost of Project #606440: PRINCETON RECONSTRUCTION OF ROUTE 140. He noted the importance of the project to Princeton as well as the many people who use route 140. The project includes replacement of a bridge as well as significant safety features. He stated that Princeton’s annual budget is about $10 million dollars and that we currently face $15-20 million in capital expenses. The proposed $900,000 reduction in funding would put the entire project in jeopardy as Princeton voters would likely be unwilling to shoulder the additional expense. The design work has been
completed, as has 99% of the work on obtaining property easements.
The CMMPO Board then voted unanimously to provide $7,984,000 in funding for Princeton’s Route 140 project.
The SB meeting adjourned at 4:49 PM
Respectfully Submitted
Richard Bisk
